Summary

Reporting to the Superintendent, Mill Reliability, the Mechanical Reliability Senior Engineer will be focused on providing support to enhance the effectiveness of the mill operations and maintenance teams at the Mt Milligan mine.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Direct supervision and mentorship of a small team consisting of one Reliability Engineer, two Condition Monitoring Technicians, and one Lubrication Technician. Ensure all employees work safely in accordance with applicable legislation, company policies, standards, and procedures. Plan and schedule work for the team to meet departmental goals, KPIs, project milestones, and deadlines.
  • Enhanced Operational Consistency: By focusing on root cause analysis (RCA) and thorough follow-up on remedial actions, the Senior Reliability Engineer will ensure more consistent and reliable mill production.
  • Cost Avoidance and Maintenance Effectiveness: Using Reliability Centerer Maintenance (RCM) methodology the Senior Reliability Engineer will oversee the development, maintenance, and improvement of preventative maintenance tasks and management processes. Additionally, the incumbent will manage and conduct routine review of equipment criticality, asset management strategies, and PM effectiveness to ensure maintenance activities are value added and optimized.
  • Risk-Based Inspection Program Implementation: The Senior Reliability Engineers will assist with the development and implementation of a Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) program. This program will quantify and track the condition of critical infrastructure, providing a structured roadmap for capital refurbishment or replacement.
  • Project Management: Manage the development and implementation of small to medium size continuous improvement projects.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering. Registered (or able to register) P.Eng. with EGBC.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the Processing Plant of a mining operation.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience is an asset.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance and condition monitoring of mechanical assets.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the operation
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to use integrated maintenance management systems. Experience with SAP is an asset.
  • Exposure to project coordination and a demonstrated ability to make sound project decisions.
  • Effective leadership to build a strong employee culture.
  • Self-starter and high-performance attitude.
  • Good work ethic and a strong attitude towards safety are essential requirements.
  • Valid Canadian Driving License.

Working Conditions

  • Work involves a camp-based role at the Mount Milligan Mine site with a set work schedule on a 14x14 work schedule, 12 hours per day.
  • Candidates must be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts, up to 12 hours in duration.
  • Occasional exposure to hazardous environments with the requirement of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Mount Milligan is a safety-sensitive environment and promotes a drug & alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a ZERO – TOLERANCE policy, with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs/paraphernalia on site.
  • Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from Fort St. James and Mackenzie.
