Summary

Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Supervisor, the Industrial Millwright will be responsible for various maintenance activities common to the milling operation and the associated crushing, grinding, flotation, conveyor systems and support equipment.

Responsibilities 

  • Repairs and maintenance to structures and components of milling facility.
  • Fabrications and product enhancements as required.
  • Actively participate in various safety activities.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance inspections.
  • Repair equipment in the field or shop.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Clearly write reports detailing work performed and problems found....
  • Performs any other responsibilities related to the Millwright role as required or as assigned by the department head. 

Education & Experience

  • Must have an interprovincial Red Seal Millwright certification.
  • 3+ years' minimum experience, with mining experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints and assembly drawings.
  • Ability to weld is an asset
  • Ability to competently operate mobile equipment is an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products i.e., Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Possess a valid Canadian driver's license

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • Proven safety and attendance record.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds is required.
  • Willingness to work in adverse conditions.
  • Self-motivated, team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Required to meet pre-employment testing requirements.
  • Be able to work at heights in excess of 50’

 

Working Conditions

  • Work involves a camp-based role at the Mount Milligan Mine site with a set work schedule on a 7x7 work schedule, Wednesday to Tuesday, 12 hours per day
  • Team environment
  • Work consists of moderate degree of social interaction with employees in person
  • Regular exposure to working indoors and outdoors, continuous noise, working around machinery with moving parts, around heavy equipment and in close proximity to others
  • Occasional exposure to hazardous environments with the requirement of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
