Technical Services Superintendent



Reporting to the Project Manager the Underground Technical Services Superintendent provides:

·         Management and Supervision of the mine engineering and geology functions, including some capital projects.

·         Leadership to the Technical Services Department for provision of all mine engineering and geology services;

·         Direct the development of long (LOM) and short-term mine plans, mine plan designs, geotechnical, and geological services in accordance with overall company objectives and in support of the production group;

·         Ensure timely and accurate mineral reserve and resource information for both operations and corporate requirements;

·         Determine optimum NSR and collaborates with mine production for achieving these returns;

·         Develops and manages budget and cost controls for the Technical Services Department.




·         Eligibility for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers of British Columbia.

·         Previous U/G experience is essential.

·         Proven problem solving and decision-making skills.

·         Demonstrated health and safety leadership in an industrial setting.

·         Proven leadership and team building skills at a senior supervisory level.

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills.

·         Strong organizational, budgeting, cost control, planning, and interpersonal problem-solving skills.

·         Advanced engineering computer skills

·         Exposure to underground bulk mining, particularly caving would be an asset


This position is based at Kemess Mine on 4 days on, 3 days off schedule. Kemess Underground Project is a dry camp, fly-in/ fly-out underground mine operation located in north-central British Columbia approximately 250 km north of Smithers and 430 km northwest of Prince George.
