Position Overview

Reporting to the General Foreman, the Mill Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision of mechanical maintenance teams in the mill.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans for team and individual results and delegates accordingly
  • Coordinates department activities
  • Provide effective leadership to build a strong employee culture
  • Responds to situations and people to ensure the best methods are being employed
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement initiatives of the department
  • Develops operating procedures
  • Ensure a high level of quality and production standards
  • Establishes the most efficient approach to use of resources to reach target / goals
  • Encourage and develop employee skill levels
  • Ensure a safe working environment for the team
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications for this position include

  • 5 years of journeyman experience plus 3 years supervisory experience in a mining setting preferred
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities
  • Ability to motivate crews
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs ie. Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work with minimal supervision

Work Schedule

  • The schedule will be 7 days on with 7 rest, 12-hour shifts
