Description
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Mill Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision of mechanical maintenance in the mill.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, plan, and lead the safe operation and maintenance of all industrial machinery within the mill
- Train and develop a diverse work force in the safe and efficient operation of equipment
- Provide effective leadership to build a strong employee culture
- Coordinate mill operations activities with other departments and contractors
- Contribute to the continuous improvement initiatives of the department
- Develop operating procedures
- Ensure a high level of quality and production standards
- Encourage and develop employee skill levels
- Ensures a safe working environment for the team
- Completing shift and production reports in an efficient and timely manner
Qualification
- Five years of journeyman experience in a hard rock milling setting. Experience with a gyratory cone crusher as well as grinding mill a requirement
- Three years supervisory experience in a mining setting
- Possess Supervisor Certification
- Conflict resolution skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities
- Ability to motivate crews
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Working Conditions
• Work involves a camp-based role at the Mount Milligan Mine site with a set work schedule on a 7x7 work schedule, 12 hours per day, consideration will be given to 14x14 rotation.
• Candidates must be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts, up to 12 hours in duration
• Work consists of a high degree of social interaction with employees in person
• Regular exposure to multiple priorities requiring scheduling changes and uncertainty in the work organization,
• Occasional exposure to hazardous environments with the requirement of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Mount Milligan is a safety-sensitive environment and promotes a drug & alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a ZERO – TOLERANCE policy, with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs/paraphernalia on site
• Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region
