Summary
Reporting to the Mine Operations Superintendent, the Mine Operations Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision of Mine Operations Technicians (Equipment Operators & Truck Drivers).
Responsibilities
- Supervise, plan and lead the safe operation of al mine mobile equipment.
- Coordinate mine operations activities with mill operations
- Capture, validate and record mine site data through the modular mining system
- Completing accurately the shift report at the end of each shift.
- Read and understand the SIC, making adjustments as needed in order to maximize production
- Ensure every cycle record is accurate and completed for the shift
- Ensure proper tracking and entering of delays on equipment
- Ensure that the material is dispatched to the proper destinations
- Relay any equipment down time to maintenance in a timely manner
- Ensure that support equipment have the proper design on their screen when in construction
- Work with mine technical team to achieve targets and goals
- Communicate with other supervisors to achieve a safe and productive work place
Education & Experience
- Five years supervisory experience, in hard rock mining setting preferred
- Blasting experience is preferred
- Ability to follow the week plan
- Possess current British Columbia shift boss certification
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Excellent verbal communication
- Ability to adjust to rapid changing priorities
- Knowledge of Microsoft office programs i.e. excel, word, outlook
- Mine star dispatch experience is considered an asset
- Ability to read the mine plan
- Basic computer skills
- Experience with Isometrix reporting program
- Experience with ADP payroll system
Working Conditions
- Work involves a camp-based role at the Mount Milligan Mine site with a set work schedule on a 14x14 work schedule, 12 hours per day
- Candidates must be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts, up to 12 hours in duration
- Occasional exposure to hazardous environments with the requirement of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Mount Milligan is a safety-sensitive environment and promotes a drug & alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a ZERO – TOLERANCE policy, with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs/paraphernalia on site
- Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from Fort St. James and Mackenzie.
