Summary

Mt. Milligan is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Mill Operations Production Coordinator to join our growing Mill Operations team.

Reporting to the Mill Operations Superintendent, the Mill Operations Production Coordinator will be responsible for the Mill Process, and creating a profitable, productive, and positive work environment focused on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities 

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement initiatives of the department
  • Utilize inter-department resources to identify best practices
  • Ensure a high level of quality and production standards
  • Seek out and identify persistent problems; organize efforts to resolve, while tracking progress
  • Conduct thorough investigations and document findings
  • Coordinate operations production activities with inter-department resources for bi-weekly forecasting
  • Apply MOC and risk assessment processes to evaluate and document proposed changes
  • Coordinate plant production shutdown plans with Mill Maintenance, and Mine Operations
  • Coordinate department activities during implementation of new findings
  • Develop and educate on process control strategies
  • Assist with training of employees in best operating practices
  • Evaluate operator rounds; identify and rectify gaps in reporting and checks
  • Performs any other responsibilities related to the Supervisor role as required or as assigned by the department head.

Education & Experience

  • 5 + years of supervisory experience in a milling environment with experience in Sag and Ball Milling
  • 7 Years of Milling experience
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Process Monitoring and Stability
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs ie. Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Experience with DCS systems and PI
  • Can work autonomously on specific tasks to meet deadlines (desirable)
  • Possess, or able to hold, a British Columbia Supervisor Certification an Asset
  • Possess a valid driver’s license

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities
  • Ability to maintain motivation of crews
  • Degree of assertiveness, ability to give direction
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, specifically SAP, TapRoot, IsoMetric, Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work with minimal supervision

Working Conditions

  • Work involves a camp-based role at the Mount Milligan Mine site, which is approximately 155 kilometers northwest of Prince George, British Columbia, with a set work schedule on a  14x14 work schedule, Wednesday to Tuesday, 12 hours per day
  • Team environment
  • Work consists of moderate degree of social interaction with employees in person
  • Regular exposure to working indoors and outdoors, continuous noise, working around machinery with moving parts, around heavy equipment and in close proximity to others
  • Exposure to hazardous environments with the requirement of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • The employee is expected to stay at the mine site, while on rotation
  • Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from Fort St. James and Mackenzie.
