Summary
Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Supervisor, the Took Crib Technician will be responsible for supporting the maintenance team in the mobile shop.
Responsibilities
- Clean and inspect tools, order parts and repair tools as needed
- Organize tool crib to allow easy access and quick identification
- Ensure all spill protection stations in the shop and fuel island are properly stocked
- Inspect and maintain all lifting equipment
- Receive stock from warehouse, cross reference to ensure correct request were delivered
- Inspect all signal wands and safety chains
- Audit steam truck/bay supplies, repair defective wands, hoses and order supplies as needed
- When tools are unavailable in the shop help to source tools from other departments
- Actively participate in various safety activities
- Act as a second set of hands around the shop (PMs, Wash bay, Snow Removal and general yard clean up).
- Assist in cleaning and organizing the shop floor and monitor tool sign out book
- Audit consumables and order as needed.
Education & Experience
- Must have a strong understanding of tools and consumables and maintenance experience is preferred
- Experience operating a forklift, skid steer and overhead crane
- Attention and compliance to established safety rules and guidelines is paramount
- Ability to lift 50 pounds is required
- Must be able to prioritize tasks and maintain a schedule
- Must have the ability to work independently as required
- Valid BC Drivers License required.
Working Conditions
- Work involves a camp-based role at the Mount Milligan Mine site with a set work schedule on a 7 x 7 work schedule, 12 hours per day.
- Candidates must be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts, up to 12 hours in duration.
- Occasional exposure to hazardous environments with the requirement of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Mount Milligan is a safety-sensitive environment and promotes a drug & alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a ZERO – TOLERANCE policy, with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs/paraphernalia on site.
- Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from Fort St. James and Mackenzie.
