Summary

Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Supervisor, the Took Crib Technician will be responsible for supporting the maintenance team in the mobile shop.

Responsibilities 

  • Clean and inspect tools, order parts and repair tools as needed
  • Organize tool crib to allow easy access and quick identification
  • Ensure all spill protection stations in the shop and fuel island are properly stocked
  • Inspect and maintain all lifting equipment
  • Receive stock from warehouse, cross reference to ensure correct request were delivered
  • Inspect all signal wands and safety chains
  • Audit steam truck/bay supplies, repair defective wands, hoses and order supplies as needed
  • When tools are unavailable in the shop help to source tools from other departments
  • Actively participate in various safety activities
  • Act as a second set of hands around the shop (PMs, Wash bay, Snow Removal and general yard clean up).
  • Assist in cleaning and organizing the shop floor and monitor tool sign out book
  • Audit consumables and order as needed. 

Education & Experience

  • Must have a strong understanding of tools and consumables and maintenance experience is preferred
  • Experience operating a forklift, skid steer and overhead crane
  • Attention and compliance to established safety rules and guidelines is paramount
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds is required
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and maintain a schedule
  • Must have the ability to work independently as required
  • Valid BC Drivers License required.

 

Working Conditions

  • Work involves a camp-based role at the Mount Milligan Mine site with a set work schedule on a 7 x 7 work schedule, 12 hours per day.
  • Candidates must be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts, up to 12 hours in duration.
  • Occasional exposure to hazardous environments with the requirement of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Mount Milligan is a safety-sensitive environment and promotes a drug & alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a ZERO – TOLERANCE policy, with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs/paraphernalia on site.
  • Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from Fort St. James and Mackenzie.
