We are currently looking for an experienced, innovative Engineering Manager to join our Goldfield team. This opportunity will suit someone with a strong mining and minerals background and a demonstrated background in Engineering design and management of all engineering disciplines on large complex projects.


In collaboration with senior and executive leaders, the Engineering Manager supports the planning and execution of the strategic business plan and is responsible for providing leadership at the Goldfield Engineering office  and within the project to ensures that Centerra’s goals and objectives are met.

• Manage and coordinate the activities of the Gemfield project discipline design teams to ensure quality, time and budget objectives are achieved.

• Oversee the various engineering consultancies and ensure that they maintain scope, budget and schedule.

• Ensure good communication and coordination between the various stakeholders and design teams.

• Establish and coordinate engineering scope and associated engineering priorities.

• Manage the engineering work plan and its implementation;

• Alongside the Project Director, create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.

• Provide leadership and technical expert advice on design, discipline engineering, engineering processes and associated engineering controls;

• Comply with all of Centerra’s corporate policies and procedures by adopting Centerra’s Quality Assurance and Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment policies, procedures and requirements.

• Work closely with the corporate P&TS, ESG, and finance teams.

• Support and encourage the continued innovation and improvement of Gemfield’s processes and procedures.

• Assists the discipline leads in developing detailed work plans to support the project execution plan. Detailed work plans include the scope of work, list of deliverables, staffing plans, job-hours budget, and the schedule for each deliverable;

• Review and approve the design documents, trends, change orders, material requisitions, technical portion of bid tabs, engineering studies, quantity take-offs, job-hour forecasts, progress reports and, with concerned disciplines, coordinates resolutions for field-initiated engineering questions on engineering (RFIs);

• Organizes, assists, and participates in plot plan reviews, PFD reviews, P&ID reviews, 3D model reviews, constructability reviews, value improvement initiatives, risk management, client safety and operations reviews of the design work, and the quality checking plan including field checking;

• Assumes ownership of the project scope, material quantities, engineering job-hour budget, engineering schedule, interface date(s) of procurement schedule and project technical standards;




• Enhanced knowledge of standard Engineering design practice.

• Strong background in project management and project controls.

• Experience with various engineering and project controls software.

• Comfortable to participate in and lead project design reviews.

• Strong problem solving and organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate with Stakeholders including Senior Leaders, and frontline employees.

• Clear understanding of regulatory landscape and organizational obstacles.

• Brings a team-centric approach that is supportive and encouraging.

• Strong ability to manage shifting priorities while maintaining deliverable deadlines.




• A post-secondary degree in Engineering.

• P.Eng. designation is mandatory.

• Extensive experience in mineral processing with 15years of experience in a combination of engineering, senior project engineering management within an Engineering consultancy or Mining Company.

• Previous experience in all stages of the EPC/EPCM project execution life cycle, from pre-feasibility to Construction;

• Gold Heap Leach experience.

• Previous experience on Nevada based projects.
